5 Tips to Stop a Gallbladder Attack Now

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Scott_Malin] Scott Malin The gallbladder is a small organ located directly under the liver. It acts as a bile reservoir; it concentrates bile which is secreted by the liver and is used by the body to digest fats. If the liver is overloaded with toxins and saturated fats, the bile (which carries toxins and fats) will eventually inflame the gallbladder. When enough cholesterol deposits (from saturated fats) have formed, they crystallize with the bile to form gallstones. If the gallbladder becomes inflamed, it causes sever pain in the upper right abdomen, otherwise known as a “gallbladder attack”. More serious conditions can lead to fever, nausea and vomiting. These symptoms often arise after the individual has eaten fried or fatty foods. This condition must be treated immediately as it can be life threatening. According to the peer reviewed medical journal Medical Hypotheses, the key to preventing and healing a gallbladder attack is to stop overloading the liver and gallbladder with toxins and saturated fats. Remember, cholesterol deposits from saturated fats cause a gallbladder attack, so avoiding saturated fats in your diet is the key. Saturated fats do not exist in the vegetable kingdom. 5 Simple Tips to help stop a gallbladder attack… In the morning, drink the gallbladder flush; 8 oz. Apple juice (or dilute with water), 3-6 cloves of raw organic garlic, 1-2 inches of raw organic ginger root, mix well in blender. This drinkshould help protect against a gallbladder attack. Eat a well balanced diet of 50% raw foods and fresh juices, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts/seeds. This low saturated fat, high fiber diet is a must for healing gallbladder disorders. Flaxseed oil is needed for repair and prevention of gallstones as it contains essential fatty acids. We have created a complete 7 day detox diet complete with recipes, daily meal plans and a shopping list. Plus, it’s FREE. (See below for more)A gallbladder attack may be helped by an increased intake of natural Vitamin C. Replenish your vitamin C stores by eating plenty of vitamin C-rich fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Good sources include peppers (red/green/yellow), oranges, strawberries, lemons, and broccoli.Medical Hypotheses, 40(2), February 1993, p. 81-84Herbal detoxification products may be helpful instopping and preventing a gallbladder attack. We suggest using formulas that use organic, whole herbs. All Animal Foods: dairy foods (milk, cheese, butter, cream, ice cream), fish, meat, chicken, turkey, eggs, fried and greasy foods, margarine, and all other processed foods and animal derived products from your diet. These foods are laced with chemicals, pesticides, and toxins as well as high levels of saturated fats which cause gallstones and a gallbladder attack. Staying In Love For A Lifetime: Keys From Your Favorite Sports Team

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

By Jennifer Oikle In the beginning of your relationship, “we’ness” probably ran rampant. We this, we that. No doubt, you felt connected and functioned as a team- each supporting the other. In fact, that’s happy couples biggest secret- they maintain Team morale long after the glow fades. Problem is, once daily life gets in the way, it’s easy to end up on opposite teams- blaming each other and feeling like you’re working toward different goals- rather than working together. So what’s the key to rediscovering Teamwork? Take a hint from your favorite sports team to remind yourself of the basics: Name and Mascot: How do you know someone’s a Bronco’s fan? It’s easy- they wear Bronco’s colors, display their emblems, and cheer Go Bronco’s! Well, your team is no different. You need a way to reinforce your we’ness and show yourselves, if not the world, that you are behind each other 100%. So be creative …decide what your team stands for and have a name or idea that evokes that for you. Or, have a ritual that signifies your we-ness. Be unique and let your imaginations run wild. The exercise itself will bring your closer together- now and in the future. Purpose: Every team has a purpose and successful teams never lose sight of the main goal. While you and your partner’s purpose may not be to score as many touchdowns as possible- your union does serve an important purpose. And every couple is different. Sit down and remind yourselves: what is your biggest purpose? Why are you together? Meeting: Find a way to keep that purpose front and center- for sports teams, they have meetings. How else would they keep in touch, check progress on their goals, and plan their next moves to stay on track? Your team should have regular meetings too! Once a week or at least once a month, schedule a couple or family meeting to address your progress toward key goals and keep communication clear. Leadership: Every successful team has wise leaders guiding the way. In this case- you both need to be leaders- ones who know how to compromise. It’s important that each member of the couple is allowed to lead in the areas where you are strong. Power needs to be shared and rotated. If you end up with too many power struggles- your team will lose. Practice: No Team wins without practicing essential skills. Relationships are no different! If you are weak in important relationship skills- you’re team is going to flounder. It takes a lifetime to learn excellent communication, conflict resolution, sharing, intimacy, cooperation, etc skills. Keep sharpening your repertoire! Coaching: Lastly, no one is successful alone. Even top competitors in all fields make use of coaches- you simply need an objective view sometimes. So, read relationship books, make use of online information sources, create a couples support group, or when needed, seek outside assistance. So what’s your teamwork level? Feeling like you are on opposing sides of a losing argument? Than it’s time to boost your team work skills! Review the above factors and decide which aspects of teamwork your team needs to focus on to start winning again! When you and your partner are working together on the same Team, love always wins! Dating, Marriage, Love & Relationship Advice: The Dance of Commitment

Monday, March 10th, 2008

By Donna Le Blanc If you are single, dating, or trying to get to I DO and spend too much time hurting and not enough time loving this may be the most important love relationship advice you could ever receive. Did you know that some people just don’t let themselves have love? Some are eaten alive with the fear of commitment. Some cant let themselves take the risk or feel vulnerable so they string you along in a dating relationship. Some people don’t love themselves enough to value you if you love them. Here’s how to spot the signs of a hopeless case, using little known relationship tips. The truth is that unless a soul is willing to be involved with you, there is no hope whatsoever for a love relationship. No set of skills you learn from any book, seminar, or TV program can create a breakthrough when the other does not choose it. Of course, this can be terribly frustrating for you if you are dating or married and a willing partner. It’s painful, a lot like hitting your head against the wall. Nonetheless, all too often we do not listen when we are told no, because we believe there must be something more we can do to fix the situation so that our desires prevail. Each of us wants what we want when we want it, especially when it comes to love relationship, so we tend to ignore the inevitable and keep on trying. I’ve done this myself. I may be a therapist, but I am a woman first and I learned these lessons through painful firsthand experience. In a dating relationship, a man who says, “This relationship doesn’t fit into my 20-year projection,” or a woman who tells you, “I leave everybody with whom I get involved,” is telling you that he or she is not available. And that’s the truth. Most likely this person has chosen this dating relationship with its current limitations because it didn’t have long-term potential in his or her mind. It doesn’t matter how great the sex is, how attractively you dress, or how well you get along, the day will come when you will hit a nasty wall of resistance. You may even hit the wall right after you attain an amazing state of ecstatic union. Then, out of the blue, everything will come to a screeching halt. When suddenly your love interest informs you, “It’s over,” it’s super important to listen to what is being said to you and heed the message. Otherwise you are in for deeper disappointment. Ironically dating that leads to a true love relationship is terrifying to the hidden part of us that’s responsible for our safety and survival. If we love deeply and surrender to love, fear naturally arises. Opening up to another being tends to bring up old wounds from the past, especially childhood. The survival system can be stronger than the human heart. Its only interest is in protecting us from getting hurt by anyone or anything. For some of us, the possibility of establishing a profound connection poses perhaps the biggest threat. The fear of commitment often masks a deeper issue. You may feel “not good enough,” “engulfed,” “not perfect,” and so on. The fire of passion is literally too hot for many people to handle, so they run away. Without making the soul choice to hang in there and face the fire, our desired connections don’t stand a chance. There are love relationship tips you can use to let you know that you have snagged someone afraid of connection. See if these sound familiar: 1. After the sexual excitement has died down a bit your lover becomes elusive. 2. Your love interest starts avoiding opportunities to get together, and when you mention it you are called a “complainer.” 3. Any mention on your part of moving into more commitment is met with evasion, “Do what you need to do for yourself. Don’t worry about me.” 4. Your partner develops a roving eye. Sitting at a dinner table you see your beloved watching everyone that passes. 5. The sexual interest dies between you. You express a desire for more affection and are told that you are “too pushy.” It doesn’t matter what techniques you use in a love relationship. Unless there is an awakening of consciousness and a desire to increase the level of intimacy, there cannot be a breakthrough. In my therapeutic practice I have watched women spend ten years with men who were terrified of being abandoned but were also terrified of commitment. When push comes to shove this type of man chooses his freedom over the woman. He is often too concerned with what he could miss out on later to commit to today. In my book, The Passion Principle: Discover Your Personal Passion Signature and the Secrets to Deeper Relationships in Love, Life and Work, I identify 5 signature styles of relating. Each has a healthy balanced, loving aspect, which makes for great relationships and a wounded side, which shows up as the inability to love or commit for one reason or another. They are the Warrior/Conqueror, Lover/Vamp, Creator/Martyr, Prophet/Perfectionist, and Visionary/Perfectionist. To create a breakthrough in receiving the love you want or commit to the love you have, you must step into the balanced healthy aspect of your signature. In romantic relationships the Warrior is committed, sexy and loyal. The Conqueror works so many hours s/he is not available for commitment. The Lover is wonderful with commitment and intimacy. The Vamp can be desperately needy and make you want to run from commitment. The Creator is fantastic at commitment. The Martyr feels trapped in intimate relationships and runs at the first sign of commitment. The Prophet is a blissfully connected lover. The Escapist is a Houdini who will run from you at the first sign of commitment. The Visionary is positive, high energy and a great mate. The Perfectionist is disappointed by anyone who turns up in the flesh because they are searching for the perfect mate. The wounded aspects of the passion signatures can get in the way of deepening intimacy and cause you to waste precious time. I have seen men and women spend 30 years trying to find Mr. or Ms. Right, and no one was ever good enough. If this type is your partner, you won’t be good enough either. You can beg a workaholic Conqueror to come home and put your relationship first for decades, only to bury this type of mate before the request is honored. You can also consume five years trying to get a Martyr to join you in a grounded, forward-moving relationship to no avail, and forfeit just as many years of effort trying to establish a significant relationship with a Vamp who is only attracted to the unavailable. Relationships can be used as vessels for growth and healing, but only between willing partners. A 45-year-old Martyr grew up under the domination of an angry, controlling mother. As an adult, he continued waging battle against his mother by never committing to one woman. In a series of monogamous relationships, he provoked a long stream of women to become hostile and demanding, just like his mother, until the day came when each one could not stand any more and left him in disgust. What he didn’t realize was that his past was ruling his life and that love would elude him forever unless he dealt with his wounds. His latest girlfriend, a woman who wanted to understand her patterns, brought him to my office. She asked me to help her decide whether or not to stay in it, or break it off. The man was the eternal “nice guy” who would do anything for his woman, except commit. Each of his previous girlfriends only knew this side of him, because he was a chameleon. His defiance of her was never put in her face. It was subtle, insidious, behind-the-back stuff, nothing she could put her finger on. He seemed to be there, in the dating relationship, except he wasn’t really there. He told his new love interest that he was keeping his connections with the other women because he didn’t like to hurt people. He insisted that he wasn’t stringing anyone along . . . it was just that he had never found the one woman to whom he could commit. His fears were sabotaging the relationship. My client who was the wounded Lover/Vamp had been replaying a traumatic childhood scene of her own with the boyfriend. In relationship with him, she basically was trying to get her abandoning father not to leave. Her dad had walked out on her family when she was a small child, never to be seen again. Both she and her boyfriend were full-grown adults, yet when it came to love they were hopelessly locked in a painful cycle of tug of war. She was sabotaging her happiness by trying to persuade an unavailable man to love her. Remember: There are no bad guys here. Sometimes we’re ready for things and sometimes we are not. A sign that you are personally unready is that you continue dating people who are also not available when you check below the surface. Or if they are available, you “make” them not good enough, or tell yourself, “Not now.” If you are on the receiving end of a message of reluctance, hang in there for a little while in case your love interest becomes more comfortable. Seek help in processing your feelings if you must. But if you find your self-esteem draining from you while you wait, or you feel less and less valued by your mate, it is time to “cut bait” (break up), toss “the fish” (your partner) back into the sea, and walk away. There are more easy-to-apply love relationship tips and tools you can use to create commitment in what looks like hopeless cases. In my book, The Passion Principle: Discover Your Passion Signature and the Secrets to Deeper Relationships in Love, Life and Work, you will find lots more to help you have the love relationship you deserve. Here’s one final thought. If you are in a loving relationship, it is vital that managing the relationship and growing in the relationship become your two highest priorities. You must be honest and diligent, take responsibility for your own energy, feelings, thoughts, and defenses, and try to understand your impact on your partner. This last item matters most when things are going wrong or you want to deepen your connection. These are keys to unleashing romantic passion. Why Do You Need to be in the SERPS?

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

By Scott Hendison Why does your business need to be in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS)? Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing both have the same goal, which is to help visitors find your website. Ten years ago there was probably nobody searching online for your product or service. Five years ago, there may have been a couple of dozen people looking for it in any given week or month. Today, in 2005, you can be sure that there are many people actively seeking your products or services each and every day through the search engines. Can they find you there? According to a Fall 2004 report by http://www.comscore.com/ nearly 40% of all internet connections in the United States are now broadband, “always on”, high speed internet access. As this becomes the norm, there is also a steady merging or “convergence going on between our computers, our cel phones, and even our television sets. Pretty soon, we’ll all have access to worldwide information in the palm of our hands at any given moment. Do you think that might affect how customers are going to look for you? It’s never been more important to be listed in the Internet search engines and directories than it is right now. I see websites that have been around for years and never even been submitted to any search engines. (I’ve also seen sites get penalized by the search engines for improper or “over submission”, so don’t rush out and do it!). Yet some of these same businesses will pour hundreds or thousands of dollars each month into local Yellow page advertising because they believe it to be the most effective form of advertising. Well, phone book use has been steadily declining over the past 10 years, and it’s not bouncing back any time soon. Why would anyone open up a big heavy book, when they can just click and type “West Los Angeles plumber” and find immediate phone numbers? Online, they can also find maps, hours, prices, and even sound clips and informational videos. With high speed Internet now available in most metropolitan areas on cel phones, you can forget about it! For some businesses, being on page one of the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages) will be more valuable than having a full page ad in the Yellow Pages ever was. Those thick phone books are going the way of the dinosaur, I guarantee it. Ten years from now, how cost effective will it be to publish, print and distribute these books when nobody uses them or wants to advertise in them anymore? Your business probably has a website already, and that’s a good start. But are you ahead of the curve in your industry nationally? How about locally? If you’re selling Rolex watches or male potency pills, you’re admittedly behind the 8 ball, but if you’re a local business person, take stock in your future today. Make some time to check out your competition. Go to Google or Yahoo and search for your product or service in your city or state. How many total results come up, and are you or your competition in the SERPS? Compare those well ranked websites with the largest most expensive listings in the Qwest Dex (or your local) Yellow pages. Are the same companies at the top of the search results that have the largest print ads? I’ll bet they’re not. You might be surprised that some of the biggest industry names in your city are practically nowhere to be found in the search results. Of course this isn’t true for all industries, but it still is for most of them. This opens a huge window of opportunity for the savvy business owner. Diversifying your marketing dollars to include your website will simply have the best ROI (Return On Investment) for your companys future. How To Use A PDA Cell Phone To Reduce Stress And Organize Your Life

Friday, March 7th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gregg_Hall]Gregg Hall Do you stress over trying to remember schedules and appointments? Do you need to be able to access the internet on the road for email or information? If, so you consider getting one of the new PDA cell phones that are now available. I personally own a Treo, the same one that Jack Bauer uses in the series, 24. It makes my life a lot easier and I am sure that you will have similar feelings. The new PDA cell phones are hybrids of the PDA of the past combined with a cell phone and optional access to the internet. These devices are fast becoming a popular, must have accessory for young urban professionals as well as others in sales related industries such as insurance, financial planning, and real estate whose jobs require them to be out of the office quite a bit. These hybrid devices have now made it unnecessary to carry along two separate gadgets, combining the benefits of both a cellular phone and a personal organizer. The sheer convenience and mobility all rolled into one are the main reasons for the popularity PDA cell phones. One of the things I like most is the ability to use my phone to store many phone numbers that can be easily and quickly accessed like having your own phonebook. Some of the newer devices have huge storage available in the device themselves that will hold hundreds of names. In addition, many also offer the ability to install an optional data card for even more storage. I have one of these for my phone because I use the camera option a lot and the images take up a lot of space, especially movies! Another cool thing is that you can synch your PDA to your PC or laptop and download any data such as pictures or notes from meetings to your main computer. One of the best uses for these new devices is to use them for scheduling all of your meetings and appointments. With a built in timekeeper you can even set alarms to notify you ahead of time so that you don’t miss anything. Now you never have to worry about forgetting an important date or missing an appointment. Like all new technology the PDA cell phones are evolving all the time and becoming better and easier to use as well as lower in price. The latest Treo even uses Windows and Microsoft Office products to help you have a virtual office in the palm of your hand. Once you try one of these your life will never be the same. Candle Making Equipment 101

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

By Desmond Owens Let’s talk about Candle Making Equipment. If your a candle making wiz the following information may come to you as old news. When you are ready to start making candles, various types of equipment will be needed. Whether a novice candle maker who enjoys filling the home with wonderful fragrances or a professional candle maker, creating amazing masterpieces, you will find candle making equipment specific to your needs. Melting Pots A small melting pot is ideal for the hobbyist. This size pot will hold up to two pounds of melted wax and can be used on direct heat or with a steamer pot for the double-boiler method. This method is the best option for reducing potential hazards, by controlling the wax temperature and not allowing it to reach dangerously high temperatures. The standard melting pot is like the smaller melting pot except it holds up to four pounds of melted wax. This would be ideal for craft parties, making holiday candles, or for average-sized projects. Again, the double-boiler method is recommended. The steamer pot is used with either the small or standard melting pot as the double-boiler piece of equipment. This method is often preferred since the wax does not have to be monitored as closely. The double-boiler method eliminates the wax flash point, where temperatures can reach 400 F and catch on fire. With this method, wax never exceeds 210 F as long as the water level is kept at the recommended level. If preferred, you can choose a wax melting kit that usually includes a small melting pot, steamer pot, thermometer, and wooden sticks. If you are a serious candle maker, equipment is available to make the process easier. For example, the 50-pound electric melter melts up to 50 pounds of wax in two hours! This melter is economical and features a temperature control dial and replaceable flow control valve. Most types of wax can be used with this melter although plain wax works best for easy cleanup. To add color or fragrance, use a separate container. This greatly reduces inside cleanup. When the melter needs cleaning, melt plain wax, running it thorough the valve until the wax flow is clear. The 150-pound wax melter melts up to 150 pounds of wax all at once. Not only does this take time off production, but it also increases profit. This model is designed to use heated water to melt wax safely and fast. Features include a water level indicator, see-through lid, dual water drainage plugs, water temperature display, and replaceable flow control valve and heating element that includes a temperature control dial. This too should only be used for plain wax, using a separate container for color and fragrance. To increase the quantity of candles being made, you can step up to a 100-pound wax melter, designed to melt up to 100 pounds at one time. Features include two temperature control dials, and a replaceable flow control valve. For wax type, cleaning, color, and fragrance, follow the same pattern as the 50-pound model. Dipping Vat Dipping vats come in various sizes for different needs. The single tank, dipping vat is not heated and perfect for a five-inch taper dipping ring. This vat holds up to 25 pounds of wax and can dip 10 candles at once. For the wicks, holes will have to be drilled into the mold or the candles themselves. The dipping ring is designed for 10 candles and can be used with the single tank or the 7-tank dipping vat. To create tall taper candles up to 16 inches, simply adjust the ring. The large water-dipping vat is the monster of dipping vats. This vat is heated and designed to melt any type of wax safety. The features on this vat include a water drainage plug, extra heavy power cord with grounded three-prong plug, removable tank for easy cleanup, and a replaceable heating element with temperature control dial. Thermometer To become skilled at candle making, producing quality candles, you need a thermometer. When it comes to candle making, guessing wax temperature will not work. These thermometers are designed specifically for wax and are very sensitive. You will discover various models but when buying, look for a thermometer that has numbers easy to read, and preferably, one that comes with a sheath to provide protection while being stored. Another feature that comes in handy is an attached ball, which acts somewhat like a small handle, allowing you to turn the thermometer to read the temperature without touching the hot thermometer itself. Most thermometers will have a metal clip, which can be attached to the melting pot so there is no worry about it slipping down into the wax. Generally, wax thermometers will range from 75 to 400 F. If you have trouble finding a thermometer in the wax supply section, look in the candy making section since they use the same type of thermometer. Stirrers As the wax begins to melt, you will have some melted wax and some chunks of wax not melted. Wooden stirrers are excellent for stirring the wax not melted around, ensuring the wax melts evenly and at the same temperature. As you can see there’s a array of candle making equipment out there and we just listed a few. Desmond Owens is a successful Webmaster and publisher at Candle-Center.com He provides more information on candle making tips and tricks, and candle making equipment ideas you can research from the comfort of your own home. Are You Overweight Because You’re Not Sleeping Enough?

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

By Tracy Lee If you’re like me, you probably wish that there was a way for you to lose weight without having to put in much effort, right? Everyone knows the importance of exercise and how it helps us with weight loss, but on some days don’t we all wish we can just sleep in bed and lose weight at the same time? Well, I’ve got some great news for you… Sleep is a critical part of your weight loss program! This is a little-known fact, but did you know that sleep can affect your weight? Rather, it’s the lack of sleep that can make you put on unnecessary weight. You may actually lose more weight if only you were to sleep more every day. What an intriguing thought, isn’t it? In a review of several studies examining the impact of sleep on the regulation of metabolism, Dr. Eve Van Cauter, Professor and Research Associate at the University of Chicago, noted that the association between hormones and sleep was identified more than 30 years ago when it was reported that adult men secrete growth hormone during the early phase of sleep. Since then, research has indicated a harmful effect of sleep loss on the endocrine system and glucose modulation. One study examined the effect of sleep debt and sleep recovery on hormone concentrations and glucose tolerance in healthy males ages 18-27. One week of sleep restriction produced dramatic results: a 30 percent slower response to both the glucose tolerance test and acute insulin response compared with results in rested subjects. Sleep deprivation also raised the 24-hour cortisol profile. Another study found that sleep deprivation resulted in 30 percent lower levels of leptin. Amazingly, the effect is similar to that observed with caloric restriction (3,000 calories over 3 days), signaling a negative energy balance. A more recent study examined the effect of 10 vs. 4 hours of sleep on appetite. Subjects who slept 4 hours were always hungry and craved starchy, sweet, and salty foods. These results suggest that sleep deprivation produces a signal mimicking negative energy balance, inducing people to eat and thereby predisposing to obesity. These results indicate an association between sleep debt and obesity. Sleep deprivation would affect glucose tolerance and leptin levels and increase the appetite for unhealthy foods. She noted that sleep restriction would have greater impact on obese individuals, who have higher leptin levels to begin with, and on older adults. Dr. Van Cauter also noted that the studies were performed in males only. Because females have higher baseline levels of some hormones (e.g. leptin), sleep restriction might have worse effects in women than in men. Hey, did you notice the groups which were mentioned specifically in the last 2 paragraphs that may be more severely affected by sleep deprivation? I’ll recap them here again: (1) obese individuals, (2) older adults, and (3) women. That’s really crucial for us because this means if you’re a woman over 40, not getting enough sleep will probably make you feel hungry constantly and crave for all the unhealthy foods even more as compared to other people. And the more overweight you are, the more you may be affected by the lack of sleep. Not surprisingly, another study has indeed found an inverse relationship between increased body mass index (BMI) and sleep duration in women. That is, women who do not sleep enough tend to be more overweight than women who get sufficient sleep. And just in case you still believe in the myth that “Oh, it’s alright because I’ll catch up on my sleep on the weekends”, you should note that Dr. Van Cauter also made the following observation: Sleep debt is generally not paid back fully by weekend sleep. I suppose this is kind of like the saying “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away” — eating 7 apples on Sunday instead of 1 a day just isn’t going to give you the same results! Now, I’m _not_ saying that you don’t have to exercise and all you have to do to lose weight is to sleep it off. Exercise, strength training and physical activities in general are vital components of a permanent weight loss program. It’s simply that if you don’t sleep enough, you’ll just be making it more difficult for yourself to lose the extra weight. There’s no point in sabotaging your chances of weight loss success if it’s a simple matter of making sure you get enough sleep every night, right? I mean, how much easier can it get? According to William Dement, Stanford University sleep researcher, adults need about 8 hours of sleep a night. Try your best to get this amount every day, and you’ll reduce one more obstacle in your path to attaining your desired ideal weight. Simple idea, isn’t it? Top 10 Tips for Career Advancement

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

By Bonnie Lowe Here’s a list of the top 10 tips you can use to advance your career: 1. Don’t be afraid to say “I don’t know.” If you don’t know something, say so; don’t try to fake it. 2. Take responsibility for your actions. If you’re at fault, admit it and take the blame. If you’re wrong, apologize. 3. Never gossip. Gossip can hurt the careers of two people: the person being talked about, and the person doing the talking. 4. Never say “That’s not my job.” Don’t think you are above anything. Pitch in and set a good example, especially if the job is one that nobody else wants to do. Your willingness to do so will be noticed and appreciated! 5. Share the credit. People who share credit with others make a much better impression than those who take all the credit themselves. 6. Ask for help when you need it. Don’t let a difficult task get out of hand. When you need help, ask for it — before things get worse. 7. Keep your dislike to yourself. If you don’t like someone, don’t let it show. Never burn bridges or offend others as you move ahead in your career. 8. Don’t hold grudges. Life isn’t always fair. If you were passed over for promotion, didn’t get the project you wanted, etc., let it go. Be gracious and diplomatic, focus on the future and move on. Harboring grudges won’t advance your career. 9. Be humble. When you’re right, don’t gloat about it. Never say “I told you so!” 10. Make others feel important. Compliment others, emphasize their strengths and contributions, and help them whenever you can. They will enthusiasitcally help you in return. New York Personal Injury Lawyers

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

By Richard Romando The primary objective of your New York personal injury lawyer is to focus on protecting your rights and entitlements when you are unable to defend yourself. When an accident occurs and you suffer serious injuries, a lawyer can help you claim for damages or pursue legal actions to recover compensation that you are entitled to. What New York personal injury lawyers can do Insurance companies are required by law to reimburse you with any expenses that were incurred during an accident, but there are technicalities that need to be satisfied. For example, the filing of no-fault benefits needs to be done within 30 days, or benefits could be reduced substantially or totally lost. Your New York personally injury lawyer will make sure that you will not be bullied by the insurance company and that you receive the compensation you deserve. There are New York lawyers who are on standby 24 hours a day to take your calls and answer any inquiries you may need. Costs of hiring a lawyer If you do not have the money to pay for the charges, you do not have to worry. In most cases, you would not be charged unless you are able to collect the compensation due you. The fee, however, is quite steep - usually a third of your claims. This serves as a reimbursement for the expenses that the lawyers incurred to win your case. There are also other expenses involved in a New York personal injury case, such as a filing fee of $500, deposition transcript for another $500, doctor’s testimony which could be anywhere from $300 to as high as $2500, process server’s fee, investigator’s fee, costs of retrieving medical records, and meals, among many others. But a good New York personal injury lawyer will try to keep these expenses to a minimum. You have to understand, though, that not all cases are accepted. Your lawyer would try and retrace the incident that happened and try to evaluate if the case is worth fighting for. There are cases wherein the gain is too small to compensate for anything, so it does not make much sense to go to court. Let Me Help You Generate More Traffic

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

By John Barr Part One 1) Writing and making sure you ping blog entries is a great way to generate traffic to your website. You should always make sure to link back to your website with your blog posts. Try making multiple blogs and have them all link back to one main site. This is a technique I use to great effect. 2) ”ALWAYS”, ”ALWAYS”, make sure to edit your writing and make sure that all grammar and spelling mistakes are corrected. It doesn’t look very good and it is not a very good advertisement for your business if your articles are full of mistakes. 3) It is a good idea to visit and comment on other related blogs. Also this gives you a peek at what your competition is up to. 4) Something that I and other marketers do is make a custom 404-error page for our website sites and you should also. You can provide a link back to your main website or even try to monetize it by offering a related affiliate program within your niche. Or offer one of your products for sale. Your 404-error page should be used to do one of two things sell something or collect peoples names and email addresses. 5) Something you could consider doing is to sponsor a charity, most charities will link back to your website, and you are also doing a good deed . 6) You could sell an item on eBay as a charity auction. Most charities will link back to both your auction and your main website. Also you could rope other marketers via forums into helping you promote the auction. Very few people say no to helping a charity and they will be supplying you with free advertising. 7) Why not start a publicity campaign, do something that individuals in your niche will take note of. This will get people talking and when people talk there actually advertising your business for you for free. 8) Branding your website with a logo and a slogan or catch phrase is a must. Take BP for example, you need to make sure you stand out from the crowed and that people will remember you. 9) Holding a crazy contest that people in your niche will talk about is a great idea, the wackier the better. This will equal more links and traffic to your website and yet again free publicity. 10) You could build a tool that individuals in your niche will love and enjoy. You could then give it away for free. If the tool is helpful, then you will get quality one-way links to your website. People will spread the word as everyone loves something for free. Yet again you will generate free publicity. 11) Contact small newsletters sources off-line and submit articles to them. This something I do but very few people think to do. It is really a missed opportunity by most people, that if you implement will put you one step ahead of most of your competition.
